If you judge people, you have no time to love them. ~Mother Teresa

The year - 1989 The Association for Awareness on Rural and Tribal Health Institute (AARTHI) a voluntary, non-profit making social service organization was registered as a Society No.136 of 1989 under Registration Act XXI of 1860 at Andhra Pradesh, in INDIA.

AARTHI was established to acknowledge and address the needs and demands of a socially, culturally and economically stigmatized section of people individuals infected with HIV/AIDS.
In 2008, UNAIDS estimated the number of people living with HIV/AIDS in India at 2.5 million.

At a time when the understanding of HIV/AIDSwas in its infancy, AARTHI plunged into a world of discrimination, laced with taboos and ignorance. Extending support and assistance in the form of medical and psychological care, AARTHI approached the community afflicted with this disease with the sensitivity and knowledge that was the need of the hour. Without constraining its resources and curbing their indicative benefits, AARTHI soon turned its attention towards addressing the community at large.

AARTHI aims at improving the Quality of Life of Women who are living under difficult circumstances – below poverty line, particularly in the rural, tribal and urban slum neighborhoods. Resonating with a deep concern for the health of marginalized Children and women, as an auxiliary goal, AARTHI has developed a second wing of operations to counter these issues. This forms a major portion of the organization’s activities. With a growing number of the Senior citizens becoming victims of a failing system that is unable to sustain them, AARTHI has been working diligently towards alleviating their condition of life. Under the canopy of its various initiatives, AARTHI has been actively engaging with communities in the districts of East and West Godavari.
Creating and sustaining new avenues for information and capacity building through awareness and free medical camps, thanks to the continued support of our partners & patrons like YOU, AARTHI is modestly moving towards our goal of eradicating poverty and inequality.
